Ordering the Events to Create Mystery and Tension


Description

Students will consider how Sophocles orders the events of the drama to create the effects of mystery and tension, as well as consider how the news of the death of Polybus, King of Corinth, develops the central idea of the role of fate in Oedipus’s guilt.
