Students will examine Oedipus’s reaction to Jocasta’s description of Laius’s murder, and consider his opinion of who might be responsible for this crime. Collaborative discussions scaffold students towards analyzing Oedipus’s shifting understanding of the central idea of the role of fate in the crime Laius’s murder.
